Charlotte and Matt got married on a sunny and warm September day, and celebrated their marriage in a beautiful garden in Charlotte’s family home in Colchester, Essex. It was an elegant and relaxed wedding with games, music, champagne and lots of fun.
The wedding day started with Charlotte getting ready. I loved the atmosphere of the family home)) Charlotte’s mum was ironing the 100 year old veil, dad was practising his speech, Charlotte was getting her make-up done, and her sister and best friend were organising last minute things. Charlotte looked stunning in her Ritva Westenius dress, which was so perfect for her. After a relatively calm and quiet morning, a vintage family car brought the girls and Charlotte to the ceremony, which was very sweet and personal. After the ceremony everyone returned back to the garden for celebrations. It was fun capturing bride’s grandma and Charlotte herself playing Bat a Rat, while some played Coconut Shy, and others enjoyed a glass of bubbly with chocolate cake and macaroons.
Charlotte and Matt cut the cake (which Charlotte made herself, by the way) with a sword that belonged to her great-grandfather. They also had a display of their parents’ and grandparents’ wedding photos in a reception room, which I thought was a sweet touch)) I love how much family history they incorporated into their wedding day! Here is how it went:
