LATEST TRAVELS, RYE AND CAMBER SANDS

Yesterday was the end of a long Easter weekend, which for us started with celebrating our 5th wedding anniversary in Le Gavroche on Thursday evening)) We've officially been married for more than 5 years now :) It blows my mind and sometimes it's hard to believe how fast time flies. We look so young in our wedding photos! Le Gavroche was a perfect spot to celebrate the special occasion. We are foodies and watch probably every second program on tv about anything food related, and this weekend we really treated ourselves)) On Saturday we went to see ONCE the musical. The film is very special to us. Michael sent me the dvd just after we got married but still had to be apart for a while. This simple yet soulful film with beautiful music pulled on my heart strings and made me fall in love with him even more. Watch the film if you haven't seen it, and then go see the show)) Highly recommended!

On Sunday we jumped into our car and went to the seaside. We had The Gallivant Hotel in Camber booked for a while. Who knew it would be almost freezing with the temperatures just slightly above zero at the very end of March?! We went to the neighbouring town of Rye for a couple of hours and it actually snowed! Add the wind coming from the sea to that and you can imagine the picture)) We still enjoyed wandering the quaint cobbled streets of the town, popping into numerous antique shops to have a nosy and warm up a little. The George in Rye provided a cosy shelter for lunch. If you are ever in town stop there for delicious food. Wrapped up in scarves and mittens we braved the wind and got over the dunes of Camber Sands to walk along the beach. Gorgeous views and beautiful sandy beach did not disappoint. We managed to shelter from the wind in the dunes to enjoy some sunshine. Needless to say we slept like babies all night. Could be something to do with the fresh sea air, or maybe it was organic English wine from The Gallivant bistro :) Either or, but we'll have to come back one warm summer day so we can actually walk on the beach barefoot and not in wellies!

Now it's time to kick in the wedding season with pre-wedding photoshoots and a wedding this month. Looking forward to seeing my couples again! Enjoy the photos of Rye, Camber Sands and The Gallivant below))
