Brixton East winter wedding photos, London photographer.
Photographing M and K's Brixton East wedding in London was a perfect way to start 2016. Brixton East is a beautifully restored Victorian warehouse and a perfect London wedding venue for a relaxed yet elegant celebration.
The bride got ready at the house together with her closest friends. It was quiet at the beginning with anticipation building up as it got closer to the time when everyone needed to leave for the ceremony. It all started to feel very real when the dress was on. I absolutely love the excitement of this part of the day!
Wedding ceremony took place at a beautiful historic church in London city, after which a vintage route master bus brought the guests to Brixton East for further celebrations. M and K didn't have a particular theme for the day. They just put together and included elements they both liked and thought their guests would enjoy too. I liked the idea of a whiskey bar, personal and engagement photos displayed around the venue, local craft beers served at the bar and a cheese tower for the cake. The former furniture warehouse was decorated with lots of twinkly fairy lights, candles, flowers and foliage designed by Red Eden & Olive. All of it together created a cosy welcoming atmosphere, particularly wonderful for a winter wedding, which in turn allowed me to create photographs with warm and cosy feel. Despite the pressure of planning the wedding themselves, I think my wonderful couple managed to pull of a brilliant day enjoyed by their family and friends, some of whom travelled from as far as South Africa. For me it was certainly a great pleasure to capture the day for them, honing in on the special and fleeting moments throughout.
If you are planning a wedding in London and want to achieve a laid-back atmosphere in a venue that is full of character with an industrial feel, Brixton East could be the place for you. With its exposed brick walls, original timber floors and features it has a warm and welcoming feel - perfect for a city wedding! You can see more London weddings here, here and here.
