Winter wedding photography in Cripps Barn in Gloucestershire.
Imagine you are planning a winter wedding (February to be precise) and you are worried it's going to rain and that it's going to be cold and dreary. Now imagine you are getting married in a beautiful old stone barn with a huge open fireplace which your guests can sit around, lots of candles for light and warmth, hot buttered rum at the drinks reception, evening ceilidh, lots of dark winter foliage and deep colours in flowers and decor. Sounds lovely and cosy, right? This is exactly what Sophie and Alistair's wedding in Cripps Barn in Gloucesteshire was like! The bride and groom have put in a lot of thought and effort to create not only a very memorable day for themselves, but for their families and guests also.
It rained. It rained all day without break. We managed to take 2 or 3 photos outside with an umbrella during the day, but it was chucking it down. Rain didn't matter for Alistair though, who was waiting for his bride at the top of the altar. And it didn't matter for Sophie, who couldn't wait to see him. I think the photos from the ceremony were my favourites from the day. Alistair couldn't take his eyes off his bride, and the way they looked at each other gave me butterflies.
The Cripps Barn with it's huge open fire and beautiful flowers installation and decor by Honeysuckle Flower Co was a beautiful romantic and relaxing setting for further wedding celebrations. A very energetic ceilidh was in full swing when I left. Young and old danced together, sometimes making up their own moves along the way :)
Thank you to Sophie and Alistair for trusting me to create beautiful memories for you whatever the weather. It was an absolute privilege to be your photographer at Cripps Barn!
