PRE-WEDDING PORTRAIT PHOTOSHOOT IN GREENWICH, LONDON PHOTOGRAPHER - EMMA & NICK

It was great to meet Emma and Nick in Greenwich for their pre-wedding portrait photoshoot. They are getting married at Bradbourne House in Kent later in July and decided to have a test run in front of the camera and get some casual photographs of just the two of them.

SURPRISE PROPOSAL AND ENGAGEMENT PHOTOS IN LONDON - KELSEY & JEREMY

SURPRISE PROPOSAL AND ENGAGEMENT PHOTOS IN LONDON - KELSEY & JEREMY

Jeremy got in touch with me back in April. He and his girlfriend Kelsey had recently moved to London from Washington DC, and he was planning to propose to her in Hyde Park. The proposal was a surprise and he wanted the special moment captured unbeknownst to Kelsey.

ENGAGEMENT PHOTOSHOOT IN HAMPSTEAD - JENNI & ED

ENGAGEMENT PHOTOSHOOT IN HAMPSTEAD - JENNI & ED

Jenni and Ed are two of the kindest easy-going people you could possibly meet. They are getting married later this year in the beautiful West Dean Gardens in West Sussex, where I photographed Rebecca and David's wedding last year (who have just celebrated their first wedding anniversary!). Jenni and Ed opted to have an engagement photoshoot prior to their wedding day to get used to the camera and also to have some casual portraits together.

WEDDING ANNIVERSARY PHOTOSHOOT IN WESTMINSTER - PRISCILLA & REYTON

WEDDING ANNIVERSARY PHOTOSHOOT IN WESTMINSTER - PRISCILLA & REYTON

Priscilla and Reyton decided to mark their wedding anniversary with a photoshoot in London. They got married three years ago in Brazil and were celebrating with a trip to London, Scotland and Ireland. They wanted to include some of the most famous London landmarks into their photos, so Westminster was the obvious choice for our location. Early morning ensured that we avoided the crowds (sort of!), and that we had beautiful soft light. We started off at the Big Ben, captured some blossom in the St.James's Park, crossed the Westminster Bridge and then took a cab to the Tower of London.

COUPLE PHOTOSHOOT IN LONDON - CHERYLL & BERNARD

COUPLE PHOTOSHOOT IN LONDON - CHERYLL & BERNARD

Cheryll and Bernard lived in London for 10 years before they relocated back to Malaysia. They love the city and come back here regularly to visit friends. This time around they decided to have some photos taken for sentimental reasons, and also because Cheryll had a beautiful dress with her, so why not?! We decided on Primrose Hill as the location for their portrait photoshoot to keep it colourful and bright. The weather was absolutely perfect, and with the warm sunshine it felt like summer. We wandered the streets in search of blossom and beautiful light.

ENGAGEMENT PHOTOSHOOT IN NOTTING HILL - TIAGO & REI

ENGAGEMENT PHOTOSHOOT IN NOTTING HILL - TIAGO & REI

Tiago and Rei chose Notting Hill for their engagement photos. I love love love this part of London! With its beautiful architecture, cute cobbled mews and vibrant colours it's a perfect backdrop for a pre-wedding photoshoot in the city. We met early in the morning to ensure we didn't have to battle the tourists, and took a leisurely stroll along the Portobello Road, turning left or right when we fancied. Tiago had his much loved film Leica with him, and also took photos as went along. Poor Rei had to pose for both of us :) Tiago and Rei got married two days after in an intimate ceremony. I wish them much love and happiness!

BEST OF 2014

BEST OF 2014

32 beautiful weddings later I have finished my 4th year as a wedding photographer. Wow, time flies! I have seen a lot of weddings. 110 in fact, and yet I still feel very privileged to be part of every single one. Along with family and friends I share one of the happiest days in a couple's lives. I see and photograph parts of the day which most of the guests don't get to see - the excitement and chaos of the morning before the ceremony, first tears when nearest family first see the bride in her dress, nerves and anticipation on both sides just before the bride walks into the church, intimate moments throughout the day and fleeting moments that very few notice. Thank you to all my couples for putting enough trust into me to capture one of their most important days for them. I will never tire of love and happiness I see at weddings.

FAMILY PORTRAIT PHOTOSHOOT IN HAMPSTEAD

FAMILY PORTRAIT PHOTOSHOOT IN HAMPSTEAD

I've known Dominique and her husband Samuel for a good few years now. We met through photography and started our businesses roughly at around the same time. Dominique is a fantastic photographer herself, so to say I was a little nervous about taking her family photos would be an understatement. Being fully immersed in weddings I haven't done any family photography in a while. Thankfully Dominique and Samuel were very patient and Ava was just a little star! Hampstead was a perfect location for the shoot with tall grass and big open space to run around and play.

PRE-WEDDING PORTRAIT PHOTOSHOOT IN HYDE PARK

PRE-WEDDING PORTRAIT PHOTOSHOOT IN HYDE PARK

Perhaps it is a little bit symbolic to write a post on the first of May. The blog has been quiet over the last few weeks as I've been taking my holidays before the start of the wedding season, but this month it well and truly kicks in with 6 beautiful weddings to come. After a winter break I'm looking forward to photographing again, seeing my couples and capturing celebrations they have of the love that they share. I'm really excited about the season of 2014, which starts with a country wedding this Saturday.

SURPRISE LONDON PROPOSAL IN HYDE PARK

SURPRISE LONDON PROPOSAL IN HYDE PARK

What a story I've got for you in my first post of 2014! Jason got in touch with me at the beginning of December saying that he was going to propose to his partner Lana on their upcoming trip to London from Washington, and whether I would be up for capturing this special moment for them. The plan was for it to be a complete surprise to Lana. Jason didn't want her to know that I would be photographing the actual proposal. Talk about pressure! In our consecutive e-mails we were putting together a very precise plan of how everything was going to happen. It was felt like a huge conspiracy and was good fun!
