REAL WEDDING INSPIRATION - CHÂTEAU VINEYARD WEDDING IN FRANCE

REAL WEDDING INSPIRATION - CHÂTEAU VINEYARD WEDDING IN FRANCE

Michelle and Rob got married in the beautiful Château Lagorce nestled amongst the vineyards in Bordeaux region of France. Their wedding took place almost 3 years ago and I can't quite believe how quick the time has gone by! It has received a lot of love and has been featured on wedding blogs and in magazines in the USA, UK and Asia. If you are planning an elegant and chic, yet relaxed wedding in France, or some other destination, and need a little inspiration - this is it!

REAL WEDDING INSPIRATION - RELAXED BARN WEDDING IN SCOTLAND

REAL WEDDING INSPIRATION - RELAXED BARN WEDDING IN SCOTLAND

Today's moodboard takes us back to a relaxed barn wedding at Aswanley in Aberdeenshire in Scotland. Ashley and Matthew wanted an informal celebration with personal humanist ceremony, no long drawn out periods of time where guests were left to wait around, "family dinner" style meal and a big enough dance floor to spend all night on. Aswanley, a rustic stable conversion set in a beautiful Scottish countryside, was a perfect venue for them and allowed them to make the space truly their own. For the ceremony Ashley and Matthew chose readings about love & relationship advice with a hint of humour, lit candles to remember loved ones who couldn't be there to share the day, and tied a knot made out of the same tartan material as Matthew’s kilt to symbolise an ancient Celtic tradition which is where the phrase of “tying the knot” comes from.

REAL WEDDING INSPIRATION - RUSTIC DIY BARN WEDDING IN HAMPSHIRE

No better day to share some inspiration from this beautiful summer wedding than when it's cold and snowing outside. Clare and Ian got married at Stoke Charity farm in Hampshire and it was a truly DIY wedding. So many members of their family and friends came together to help create decorations and personal touches. It was very important to them to have everyone they love to celebrate with them, whilst having the wedding they wanted

5 LINKS TO HELP PLAN YOUR WEDDING DAY

5 LINKS TO HELP PLAN YOUR WEDDING DAY

Congratulations if you recently got engaged! I hope you are on cloud nine and excited about planning your wedding day!  But where to start? You need a venue for both ceremony and reception,  a caterer to feed everyone, a band, a photographer, a florist, daytime music and entertainment, stationery designer for your save the dates and invitations, table place settings, favours, ceremony programs, and that's just off the top of my head. There are things to organise with each individual supplier, schedules and designs to confirm, and budgets to finalise. With so much to sort out it can get quite overwhelming.

WEDDING PLANNING TIPS

WEDDING PLANNING TIPS

Wedding is probably the biggest event you will ever plan (unless you are a professional event organiser), and unless you've done it before it can be a bit daunting. I'm definitely not a pro, and more often than not I see the day from my perspective and how everything is going to work in order to get the best wedding photographs. For the last 3 years of photographing weddings I've been collecting a few tips for my couples. A couple of months ago I put together a brochure for my clients, and I just want to share a few bits of advice here on my blog. If you are getting married and are in the process of organising your wedding day I hope you will find this post useful!

NONSUCH MANSION BRIDAL PHOTOSHOOT

I can't believe that it's been almost a year since I collaborated with Elizabeth from Bridal Musings on this shoot. We were working on a series of bridal hair and make-up tutorials and decided to include a couple of dresses into the shoot as well. Blackburn Bridal Couture very kindly gave us two Clinton Lotter gowns. My favourite dress was the one in the photos below. So light and playful - perfect if you are getting married in summer months. Elizabeth did such a fantastic job with styling. Everything was elegant, feminine, delicate and just very pretty. I was excited about photographing in beautiful Nonsuch Mansion in Surrey. Stunning place for a wedding reception with lots of features and lots of light :) Below are a couple of my favourite images from the shoot. If you'd like to see full hair&make-up tutorials by the very talented Mariam Jensen and Sev from The Hepburn Collection, please head over to the summer issue Reverie Magazine where this shoot was featured and scroll to page 192. Also, do check out Elizabeth's Pinterest boards- tons of pretty wedding inspiration and ideas!

WEEKLY FINDS - ETSY WEDDINGS

I've been a huge fan of Etsy for a long time. I could browse this website for hours on end (if I had time that is) and discover little treasures for our home or garden, or just generally admiring creativity that's out there! Etsy has always had wedding related things, but they only just recently launched dedicated Etsy Weddings website, which is a fabulous resource for all you wedding planning or DIY brides out there. Anything you could think of is there from wedding dresses to planning and styling advice, and reception decor. Hair accessories, jewellery, stationery, lingerie, table settings, photo booth props - you name it! I think you could easily design the whole wedding with Etsy without leaving your computer. If not for your wedding dress, than it's great for those little touches that make your wedding more personal to you))

WEEKLY FINDS - BOW TIES AND LIVING CENTREPIECES

Days finally get longer, mornings brighter and birds start singing early in the mornings, all of which makes me very happy! My favourite season is on its way and I can feel it in the air)) Really looking forward to warm sunny days, as I can't stand cold. Also spring 2012 means my mum is coming over for a visit (in 6 weeks to be precise)! I can't wait to give her a hug at the airport, show her around London, so she can see all the things I love about this city! Time for another Weekly Finds post - things I've come across on the web in the last week))

Lovely piece on the Natural Wedding Company blog about living table centrepieces. Quirky, rustic or elegant - they will breathe live into your reception, be it pots of herbs, blossoming flowers, succulents, or even strawberry plants! If you don't like the actual look of pots - wrap some fabric around them (hessian, for example), and maybe some pretty lace around that fabric. They can also double up as favours - something guests will remember for a long time, and it will be a wonderful decoration for their home.

Here are a couple of examples from the Eco Wedding Inspiration shoot I did last year. Potted succulents grouped together as a table centrepiece. They also have name tags and double as favours))

This week I've got a thing about bow ties - love, love, love! They are so versatile! Two images below from Green Wedding Shoes show just how they can be elegant, and also quirky at the same time. Bow ties certainly add charm to the overall look of a groom. Rather dashing))

WEEKLY FINDS

My new website and blog are more than a week old now. You know that feeling when you get a new notebook, after you've spent so much time looking for the One? It's all nice and new, and clean. You open it and start writing on the first page... You want it to look very neat, so you are careful with your handwriting. And it does look pretty! Then the second page comes, and scribbles appear. It's not bad, you just start using the notebook in a way it's supposed to be used! So, this year I've decided to blog more for my brides and my readers. I'm going to start  a regular feature, which will appear once a week. I will be sharing ideas on wedding styling, inspiration I find on the web, links to other blogs, which I think could be of interest to my brides, inspirational photography etc. Sometimes it will be non-wedding related, but more personal. I think it will take a more definitive shape with time. At the moment it's more of a collection of random ideas)) Anyway, the first feature is of course about all things pretty and yellow, which is my favourite colour, and it's in my logo as well))

Found on http://designsponge.com . Love this combination of yellow and peachy pink. Flowers and lemons make a simple cake look so pretty and whimsical!

Found on http://stylemepretty.com . The little round-shaped yellow flowers are called Craspedia. Will cheer up any bouquet or buttonhole! In fact the groom from one of the weddings I photographed last year was wearing a buttonhole with craspedia flower in it. It represented his love for tennis! Here it is:

Hope you enjoyed it! Feel free to leave your feedback in the comments about what you would like to see more of! Till next time,

Dasha
