Emer & Tom
Relaxed black tie party wedding in country house wedding venue in Co.Meath.
Emer and Tom live in London, but decided to get married in Ireland where Emer is from. They chose a luxury Tankardstown House hotel for the humanist ceremony and all the celebrations. They didn’t want anything fussy or overly styled, so the theme of the wedding was planned around clean and elegant black tie aesthetic with a colour palette of white/cream/ soft foliage greens and dark navy. The bride and groom wanted the wedding day to be relaxed, fun, full of laughter and dancing.
Humanist ceremonies are becoming more and more popular in Ireland and I absolutely love them. They can be whatever you want them to be. You can write your own vows, have meaningful readings, funny readings, involve your wedding guests with a ring warming ceremony and so much more! The bride and groom’s friend and one of the groomsmen composed a poem, which was a surprise to Emer and Tom, especially for the ceremony and read it out. He had everyone in stitches and it was a special and very memorable moment for everyone present! I also loved a little celebration Emer and Tom had after being pronounced as husband and wife and sharing the first kiss :)
Other personal touches included a dark chocolate berry wedding cake made by the bride’s Mum. Two of the couple’s friends DJ’ed and played saxophone to get the evening party started and my they had that dancefloor full! The music was absolutely incredible!
Over the last few years I’ve noticed an increase in black tie weddings. A lot of my couples opt for formal and elegant black tie attire, whilst keeping the overall feel of the wedding day informal, relaxed and party focused. Emer looked stunning in a lace wedding dress by Jesus Piero from Morgan Davies in London, and Tom wore a fitted tux from Tom Ford. Classic white flowers by The French Touch complimented the look perfectly.
Check out a few of my favourite images from the day, and also let me know - can you tell it was actually dark, miserable and rainy on the day? ;-)
