Destination wedding in Doonbeg in Co.Clare, Ireland.
Angus and Kelsey's Doonbeg Lodge wedding in Co.Clare in Ireland was a truly international destination celebration. The bride and groom together with their families and friends travelled all the way from Chicago and UK to celebrate their marriage at this stunning seaside venue on the Wild Atlantic Way.
The couple chose this venue as they love playing golf together, and also Kelsey's father is one of the founding members of the club. Despite the wedding being so far from home, Kelsey and Angus wanted it to feel close and intimate. They liked that Doonbeg is a small coastal village, and they combined the Morrisseys pub dinner on Friday with a more elegant wedding on Saturday. Given that it was a destination wedding with half of the guests travelling from the USA and the other half from England, the couple were keen to bring two sides of their lives together. On Friday before the wedding they organised a Ryder Cup event in hope to see some friendly rivalry. The Irish weather played ball and sun was shining all day revealing stunning views over the Atlantic from the golf course.
Kelsey and Angus wanted their wedding theme at Trump International Doonbeg to be elegant and slightly understated. As a result they chose autumn blush and muted colours for flowers and marquee decor. The French Touch floral designers did an amazing job creating low table flower arrangements using helebores, roses and foliage. Annie from Aislinn Events planned and coordinated the wedding day and was an incredible help to the couple.
Thank you, Kelsey and Angus for having me to capture your wedding day. It was an absolute pleasure meeting you and your families. I wish you many happy years together and hope Ireland will always hold a special place in your hearts :)
