I got so excited when Lorna and Mat suggested to have their pre-wedding photoshoot in Petersham Nurseries in Richmond. It's a place they love visiting together and I adore it too, so all in all it was a perfect choice of location. We spent a few minutes in Richmond park first, but it was a bit cold, even though sunny (hello, March!). We then settled in a glasshouse cafe with tea and cake. It was like a different season inside with an odd bee buzzing around cherry and plum blossom, and beautiful scent of tulips and daffodils in the air.
The last one in the series of London photoshoots from 2012 :) Shari and Jim are from sunny Singapore and were on holiday in UK last December. They were in London for a few days exploring the city and wanted to have a beautiful memory of their time here together. We chose Notting Hill and Portobello Road as the location. This very vibrant and colourful area suited Shari and Jim's quirky personalities perfectly.
Winter and spring are the seasons for engagement and pre-wedding shoots. I have a couple of more to share from last year before I start photographing my lovely 'class of 2013' :) Katie and Michael are from the States, but are moving to Cambridge in the near future. They visited London just before Christmas last year and got in touch with me about capturing their day in the city. I only spent a couple of hours with these guys, but I felt like I'd known them for a long time.
Joanna and Jordan got in touch with me last year about having their 2 year wedding anniversary photoshoot. They are from sunny Singapore, but were in London for 3 months and loved the city. So, on a very cold and sunny December day we headed to Kensington, and then made our way to Big Ben over the next 3 hours)) I really enjoyed Joanna and Jordan's company and felt like I'd known them for years.
I am finally getting around to sharing a few of my engagement sessions from December. I met some really lovely couples who braved the cold winter temperatures, and Lisa and Nick was one of them. These guys are getting married in Hawaii this year, but they currently live in London, so they wanted to capture some of the city in their pre-wedding photographs. I really enjoyed spending a couple of hours in their company. We were chatting about how they met, living in London and their wedding plans.
Faye and Matt booked me for their December wedding almost a year ago. We e-mailed each other back and forth, but never actually met until the day of their pre-wedding shoot. It was so nice to finally put faces to names! We started off with a coffee at the Borough market and had a chat about their wedding plans)) These two are such a lovely couple and are so perfect for each other. I'm really looking forward to photographing their winter wedding just a week before Christmas!
On the morning of the day when we scheduled the shoot the skies were grey and it was chucking it down with rain. Helen and Richard had a long journey into London, so we couldn't cancel. However by 4pm the sun came out and we couldn't have asked for a better evening! We walked around Greenwich, taking photos around Old Naval College and the rose garden in the park. It was a bit of a struggle to get up the hill to the rose garden (I for sure am in desperate need of exercise!), but it was well worth it. Roses are in full bloom and the smell after the rain was absolutely amazing! Helen and Rich are so good together. Very easy-going couple up for a laugh and a bit of messing around)) It was such a pleasure to photograph them and capture their relationship. It was beautiful!
