Planning a wedding in Ireland or looking for a perfect Irish wedding venue? I have compiled a list of 10 best wedding destinations in Ireland.

Ireland has long been one of the favourite wedding destinations for engaged couples from all over the world. From luxury castles to beautiful country houses the country is famous for its hospitality, scenery and great food. What’s not to love?! There is so much to see and do on our little green island.

As an Ireland wedding photographer I have travelled all over the country to capture beautiful weddings and have seen a lot of venues!

I’ve put together a list of my favourite wedding venues in Ireland which have character and charm and represent what this country is all about. These venues have amazing teams which look after their couples really well and all my brides and grooms always had amazing weddings there.

The selected venues will suit both an outdoor and indoor ceremony or reception and have beautiful gardens as well as accommodation on site.

1. CASTLE LESLIE, CO.MONAGHAN

Castle Leslie is a luxury 5 star castle hotel in Co.Monaghan. Located in the village of Glaslough, the Estate is only 80 minutes from Dublin and 60 minutes from Belfast. You can have a wedding inside the Castle for up to 70 guests, or a reception in the marquee style pavillion for up to 270.

3. TANKARDSTOWN HOUSE, CO.MEATH

Located only 40 min from Dublin, Tankardstown House is an 18th century luxury Irish country house in Slane, Co. Meath. Exlusively yours for the wedding day the guests are welcomed into the drawing room, then following into the Orangery for a civil ceremony or dinner reception. The Orangery is a bright ballroom sitting up to 230 guests. Option for an outdoor wedding ceremony in the walled garden. Accommodation on site in the main manor house and cottages on the grounds.

4. VIRGINIA PARK LODGE, CO.CAVAN

Many couples make the house their own for a few days for a rehearsal dinner, wedding ceremony and reception and the BBQ the day after the wedding.

Luttrellstown Castle is an exlusive wedding venue near Dublin. From intimate gatherings of 20 guests to larger celebrations of up to 180 of your closest family and friends, Luttrellstown Castle Resort is a 15th century castle steeped in history and character. I particularly love their ballroom with hanging chandeliers and plenty of natural light.

The beautiful grand staircase and cosy library are great spaces for wedding guests to enjoy and are great locations for indoor photos also.

The expansive private grounds and beautiful interiors offer plenty of stunning backdrops and locations for photos.

6. DROMOLAND CASTLE, CO.CLARE

A 16th-century castle set on a large estate by the lake, providing a mix of historical charm and modern luxury.

Dromoland Castle offers a variety of indoor and outdoor spaces for different aspects of your wedding, from intimate ceremonies to grand receptions. The Brian Boru Hall is a popular choice for larger gatherings. The drinks reception takes place in a gothic gallery with a stunning grand staircase. Private patio overlooks the lake and a beautiful walled garden is just a few steps away for family photos and couple’s portraits.

Located on the shores of Lake Corrib, you can have an outdoor ceremony overlooking the lake and a wedding reception in a bespoke built marquee. No request is too big or small when it comes to luxury at Ashford Castle.

A perfect location for an intimate destination wedding in Ireland or even an elopement.

Ballymagarvey Village is conveniently located only 30 min from Dublin and 90 min from Belfast. Options for a civil indoor ceremony in The Mill for up to 170 people. Up to 226 guests can be accommodated in the Banqueting Hall.
